Taylor Yard Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge

The Taylor Yard Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge is one of three bike/ pedestrian/ equestrian bridges along the LA River through the Elysian Valley and the Glendale Narrows. The 400-foot long bridge connects Elysian Valley and Cypress Park.

Taylor Yard G2 Parcel

The City purchased the LA River-adjacent, 42-acre G2 parcel in 2017 and is working to develop it into restored habitat and open space.

Site Assessments

The first phase of the project includes testing the soil and groundwater for contaminants. Results will provide information needed to develop a remediation action plan.

The Island - Preliminary Design Concept

The Island concept creates an island to separate river flows, mimic split flow channels, and provide multiple layers of riparian and upland habitat.

Soft Edge - Preliminary Design Concept

The Soft Edge concept creates a soft-edged river on the east bank with a significant amount of new riparian and upland habitat. The existing river channel would be modified to create a series of terraces.

The Yards - Preliminary Design Concept

The Yards concept maintains the river bank in its current configuration with the park developed east of the existing Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) power lines along the river bank, providing riparian and upland habitat.

Aztec Dancers Bless the Land

The Bureau of Engineering led a site tour with groups from three indigenous tribes, including Aztec dancers who performed a blessing of the land.

Community Tour of G2 Site

More than 250 community members joined the Bureau of Engineering for a tour of the G2 parcel in 2018.

Taylor Yard G2 River Park Project Design Workshop

Hundreds of community members have participated in design workshops, community meetings, focus groups and tours, sharing their ideas and vision for the park.
