The City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering and our partners are conducting extensive outreach and engagement with the surrounding community in an effort to design projects that reflect the needs, vision and concerns of the surrounding community.
During the first phase of the project, Engineering has held numerous public meetings, discussions and tours, conducted surveys and focus groups and held topic-specific meetings (such as site assessments). These meetings and events have been attended by hundreds of community members and other stakeholders. The City also formed two advisory groups; one is made up of community stakeholders and the other is made up of technical advisors. These groups meet regularly.
The team also provides regular updates to the community through Eblast newsletters, presentations to community groups and smaller, more informal meetings and discussions. Community outreach is an important part of the project and will continue as the City develops the G2 projects.
